Aluminum Composite Panels Create a Modern Look for the New Cranston Police Headquarters

Saccoccio & Associates of Cranston, RI, utilized 6,800 sq. ft. of Omega-Lite aluminum composite material wall panels, in conjunction with brick and glass, to create a modern look for the new Cranston Police Headquarters and Municipal Court Complex.

The Champaign-colored, PVDF-finished panels were manufactured by Laminators Inc. of Hatfield, PA, and installed by Cheviot Corp. of Needham Heights, MA, using a combination of two Laminators attachment systems: Clip & Caulk and 1-Piece Tight-Fit Molding.

The project’s general contractor was Brewery Parcade Inc., Manchester, PA.

Aluminum Composite Material Wall Panels Add Distinctive Look To New Chipotle Location

Like most restaurant chains, Chipotle Mexican Grills have a look. But counter to the norm, that look is not necessarily the same from one location to the next. Within an overall design parameter and using common elements, each restaurant is designed to be unique. And so it goes in Littleton, CO, where a newly completed Chipotle location features aluminum composite metal wall panels on its exterior.

The wall panels for the project are Omega-Lite from Laminators Inc. of Hatfield, PA. They features a smooth Coppertone Kynar 500 paint finish and were installed by Sondrup Sheet Metal of Englewood, CO, using the panel manufacturer’s proprietary One-Piece Molding System.

The restaurant’s designer was MJ Cassutt Architects of Englewood. EGC Services of Denver, CO, was the general contractor.

Laminators Sign Panel Substrates Approved for the Gerber SOLARA UV2™ Hybrid Inkjet Printer

Hatfield, PA:   Gerber Scientific Products, Inc. has announced a list of new substrate materials that have been profiled, tested and approved for use with the Gerber SOLARA UV2 hybrid ink jet printer. Working hand-in-hand with Laminators Incorporated of Hatfield, PA, Gerber has profiled some of their most popular rigid substrates used for sign and specialty graphics applications.

The list of approved materials from Laminators for printing on the Gerber SOLARA includes the following:

Omega-Bond™ is a solid core, 3mm aluminum composite panel with a solid polyethylene core that is extremely flat, moisture resistant and light weight. Its factory-baked, polyester paint surface is ready for UV inks or vinyl letters and comes in 6 combinations and 9 colors: White/White, Black/Silver, Black/White, Brushed Gold/Brushed Silver, Blue/Green or Yellow/Red.

OMEGA SignBoard® is a single-sided sign panel constructed of a premium grade, rigid, exterior furniture-grade plywood core and a smooth vinyl surface. These panels are impact resistant and formulated with high performance UV inhibitors to reduce the fading effect of the sun. OMEGA SignBoard is lighter and stronger than MDO and does not require time consuming and costly painting.

Alumalite™ is a strong, aluminum composite panel with a high density, corrugated polyallomer (CPA) core that will not swell, corrode, or delaminate even under prolonged water exposure. Alumalite has factory baked, acrylic-painted aluminum faces with a high gloss brilliance that is perfect for UV inks or vinyl graphics. A 4’ x 8’ sheet of Alumalite weighs just  24 lbs. however, it is over 50 times stronger for a comparable sheet of 0.40 sheet metal. When properly installed it has an average outdoor life expectancy of 10 years.

“We chose to work with Laminators Incorporated because of their outstanding reputation for high quality materials,” explained Sean Childs, product manager at Gerber Scientific Products. “We continue to profile and approve materials that we feel can consistently meet our standards for quality. Laminators, with 40 years of experience in the production of metal, plastic, foam and wood panels is such a vendor.” Childs continued, “They have an excellent reputation in the industry so we are excited to endorse the use of their products with the SOLARA UV2 hybrid inkjet printer.”

“We were pleased to work with Gerber and are confident that our products will perform exceptionally well when used with the SOLARA printer,” commented John Simon, vice president of sales and marketing for Laminators,  “Our products are manufactured to strict standards that result in consistent surface quality and exceptional flatness typically required by flatbed digital printers.”

“The combination of the SOLARA UV inks and outdoor materials from Laminators ensures that our printed graphics are both beautiful and long-lasting,” said Childs. “Our customers can choose one of these Laminators’ products and using these material-specific profiles, confidently produce jobs that have brilliant, accurate colors and extended durability.”

For over 40 years, Laminators Incorporated has manufactured a complete line of composite panels using a proprietary process for bonding aluminum and a variety of other materials to plywood, plastic or foam cores.
